HTTP authentication mechanisms (and how they could work in Restlet)

I'm currently addressing how access control is done in the project I'm working on. We're using Restlet, so I've been looking into its authentication and authorisation mechanisms. There were a few issues with the current API for Guards, as I wanted to use mechanisms that are not currently supported.
